Virgin Blue a welcome addition to Mildura

The Sunraysia Mallee Economic Development Board (SMEDB) welcome Virgin Blue’s announcement to commence air services to Mildura.

Mildura has beaten other regional destinations under consideration by Virgin Blue to operate services, which shows confidence in the region’s economy and ability to support an additional daily service to Melbourne.

SMEDB assisted Virgin Blue with their on-ground research through provision of statistics and setting up meetings with local businesses.

Andrew Millen, CEO of SMEDB said “The announcement by Virgin Blue shows the confidence they have in the demand for air services to and from Mildura and the facilities and growth plans of the Mildura Airport.”

“The new Virgin Blue service enables business and leisure travellers to connect through to other domestic and international destinations and also complements the current services in operation,” Mr Millen added.
