China trade fair - 1 June, 2007
The Sunraysia Mallee Economic Development Board (SMEDB) will
lead a delegation to China to exhibit at the China Kunming Import
and Export Commodities Fair and to host further business and
sister city talks in Dali. The bulk of the delegation will leave
Mildura on Saturday 2nd June.
The two week delegation will include
specific business meetings coordinated in conjunction with regional
Austrade and the Victorian Government business offices located
in China.
This will be Mildura’s third time represented
at the China Kunming Import and Export Commodities Fair and businesses
attending the trade fair include Mildura Tourism, Sunraysia Institute
of TAFE, AC&Co and Neqtar Wines. Campaspe Shire Council will
also be attending the trade fair with the Organics Network which
will complement the Mildura region’s display.
Mildura region
businesses were also offered the opportunity to send product
and marketing material to the trade fair without having to send
a delegate. Best Bottlers, Andrew Peace Wines, Cheviot Wines,
Nutri-Green, Trentham Estate, Sunbeam, SunSalt and Oak Valley
Estate have elected to participate in this manner.
Following
the trade fair in Kunming from 6 – 10 June, SMEDB and the
Mildura Rural City Council will continue to Dali for sister city,
education and trade talks. This will culminate in a Mildura region
wine expo and tasting session for distributors’ agents
and potential Chinese importers.
This delegation continues the
links between Mildura and the Yunnan Province and forms part
of SMEDB’s China strategy.
Kunming and Dali are located
in the Yunnan Province of south west China. |
